It was the kind of day that only eating could fix
A greasy day...cheesy day....a spicy day.
A day I had to visit the Food Pharmacy
"Carb craving is part of daily life," says Judith Wurtman, PhD, a former scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and co-author of The Serotonin Power Diet. She and her husband, MIT professor Richard J. Wurtman, have long researched carbohydrates and their link to mood and depression.
The Wurtmans published a landmark article about carbs and depression in
Scientific American in 1989. They are convinced that the carbohydrate
craving is related to decreases in the feel-good hormone serotonin,
which is marked by a decline in mood and concentration.
And the
prescription refill can be ready in about 7 minutes.

You can lead them to fun...but you can't make them happy

The Long Way
I have always been afraid of getting lost, one might find that hard to believe about me, but I like the well beaten path, the predictable route.
I believe in having a plan, sometimes that is the only way I can get from point A to point B, given the frenzied brain syndrome I have battled all my life. I believe in the old "one step at a time" advice for gittin' there. My maps have served me well.
So....how did I end up here?
Here's what I think. You can take all the detours you can find, but if there is a life lesson you need to experience, it will find you.
It will amaze you...it will teach you...and you will grow.
Thank you Miss Universe for draggin' me down the side roads and gettin' me back on the discovery trail.

Focus Pocus - Poof Be gone
I am easily distracted...and lately, that seems to be a good thing. I think if I actually sat down and thought about all that's goin' on, I'd be plum crazy.
For me, solutions are nothin' but glorified "quick fixes" that seem to magically appear when I need one.
Until then, what you see is all smoke and mirrors.

We are family..
Remind yourself, not to spend too much time trying to figure out the
puzzle that is "Family" as there will always be a piece missing, perhaps
a piece you never knew existed.

Back Burner
The back burner is a dangerous place to set stuff, mostly cause things back there have a tendency to simmer way too long.
While they may not actually boil over, they can cook down and make an awful mess that's still gotta be cleaned up.
