Get Use - 2- It

There are just some things in life that you have to get used to and some that merit undoing or redoing, the trick is to figure out which is worthy of your time and energy and which you just decide to live with.

Excuse me....

I was just reading an inspirational post from "Queen of Your Own Life" when this sentence caught my eye,

  There's no good that comes from crushing others.

 I can't say why, but it just  brought out the Queen of Mean in me, 'cause there are some folks I would just like to squash like a bug. 

Rude, eyerollin' people, condesendin uppity folk, argumentative-close-minded folks, just to list a few.

Then there are the drivers I feel should be run down.  You know'um -  horn honkin' textin' fools.  Don't get me started on them. 

If I had had this vehicle earlier today...I feel much good could have been done.  There...I feel better now.

The other day I found something I wrote...and while I don't have it in front of me just now...it went something like this.

It is not my job to have something to say,

My job to let you say what you need to hear.

I need to remind myself of this, I need to read it often.

I don't always have to be doin' to fix
I don't always have to have an opinion
Sometimes just sittin' and listenin' is the fix.

Illusion

We all have them...some in the form of a smile, some more like an "attitude".  What ever the form -  they serve a purpose. 

It is important to learn when it is appropriate to let it be and when to "adjust" it a tad.

VerDell and I once went to a cooking class where we met this incredibly witty older lady. At the end of the night, she presented us with her "card", a colorful Pokey-dot high gloss number that I thought represented her to a T.   I no longer have the card, but I have never forgotten her energy...or the sassy red convertible she drove away in.
 
Not long ago I started thinking about her...and took it as an insight that I too should have a card....heck we all should have a card. 

So this one's for you....simply print and fill in the blank...or have one printed up. It matters not....just .....Go Be and Do!

Now and again, I still find myself standin’ there, just on the outside…like the outside’s  a really a safe place…when truth be told…

it’s not.

Life is short

A life lived protectin’ yourself from real or imagined consequences is even shorter, cause you look back and think

Damn!   

Here I am at the end of this rope and all I got  to show for it is these burns and bruises on my hands from tryin’ to hold back and these calluses on my heals from diggin’ in.

Thing is…life’s not a tug of war

Sometimes it’s the winner who lets go. 

Easedroppin'

Now and again I have to say, I'm guilty of easedroppin' . I know it's not polite but most of you know by now that I believe if I'm hearin' it...there's something there for me and I certainly don't want to miss out of one of Miss Universe's lessons.  

So I'm standing in line waiting to pay for my windshield wiper and I could have sworn I heard the clerk say...

     Lady, I'm sorry, I just don't have the tools to fix a flat-out liar.

So now I'm thinking,  now there's a tool  somebody needs to invent, and please Lord, let it be small enough to fit in my purse.

Word.
